The Bachelorette Message Board is gone baby, gone. It was my first ever message board and I was very attached. I still checked in from time to time. So long Dark Horse Thread and Marianna's Musings. Oh how I will miss you!!
By the way, for those interested, Pattismatti created a "Team Reid" secured site at http://teamreid.proboards.com and wanted me to let you all know. She sends a shout out to all!!

I poked around briefly and it looks like old posts are still there, but the format has been changed to the Bachelor blog. I have no idea what this means.
ReplyDeleteAnticipating this moment, I downloaded and formatted all but one of Marianna's Musings and all the ensuing comments from each thread. I am happy to send copies (they are many large documents) to anyone who is interested. My blog email is atalloakBB@gmail.com.

Funny! I guess Jim and I were meant to be married :-)
ReplyDeleteI just went poking around ABC as well, and found that everything has been converted to THE BACHELOR board, which is lighter writing on BLACK, if you can believe it? Hard on my eyes.
So all the posting can be and is being continued over there, with anyone able to use their old identity. But of course, all the old threads were lost.
I'm so proud of my hubby, who foresaw this day and took measures to preserve our "historical documents" forever. Rereading those will bring back the fun, laughter, angst, sadness, and sheer joy in our growing friendships, once again. Maybe, Marianna, it should be published in a book? That is, if ABC would let us?
Jim -- you are truly wonderful to have saved all that stuff!
ReplyDeleteI haven't even been on the Bachelorette board lately -- why has it disappeared??? Very strange and a departure from previous years.
I think our writing is our own, isn't it? Why should ABC have any say in what we choose to publish or not?
Maybe I should ask legal beagle hubby about that first, just in case...

Hi Remmi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for Patti's link. I did join but don't know how much time I'll get to spend there.
I plan to be more visible once the school year starts and things settle down, work-load-wise, a bit.
