    Sigh...he's still looking fine!! This statement by the writer on one site caught my attention:

    "Reid tells me that he appreciates all his 'fans,' he said that blushing as he is still quite overwhelmed by it all. He thanks you all for your support, reads your emails, but is really unable to respond at this time because life is going at a hectic pace. I.e. look for things to be happening for him. (He couldn't tell me jack, I tried)"

    Hmmm...wonder what may be in the works for him. The Bachelor? Although I have mixed feelings about that, I readily admit I would be planted in front of the TV for his season (or Kip's).

    I'm likely to be in Barbados for the last episode or two of the next season, so watching on ABC's site might be my only option, which is what I did this past winter/spring. I discovered then that the lady who is the manager of one of the 2 hotels we stay at in Barbados is an enthusiastic Bachelor/ette fan. We got into a couple of lively discussions of Jason's season that highly amused my DH (Dear Hubby, not Dark Horse!). The expression on Ron's face was priceless! He later said he was astonished that two intelligent women could be so passionate about the show and talk about it in such detail!

    Last year Ron and I caught some of the filming on a beach in Barbados for Matt's season, at which point it was down to the final 3 and the footage was part of a Matt/Shayne date. The first episode aired the day after we flew home, which is when I realized from preview clips what we had seen. However, while on the beach we were curious about the filming activity but not enough to bestir ourselves from our comfy lounges to walk the 150 feet or so for a better view!

    Wow -- that has got to be my favourite photo ever of Reid! (And that's saying something, 'cause I love a lot of his photos).

    His charisma and personality just shine through.

    I've been out of the loop lately -- do we know, in fact, who the next bachelor will be?

    I watched "The Whole Nine Yards" on TV last week, largely because it stars Matthew Perry. Not a great movie overall, Matthew is very entertaining as an ultra-nervous, neurotic dentist who is way over his head. Even in the face of danger, his character always does the right thing, regardless of the consequences. It's startling how much Matthew and Reid look, sound and act alike. Given that Matthew always plays the same kind of role, I can't help but think that he shares Reid's nervous, witty energy and genuine concern for others.

    I hope that Reid can find the perfect public outlet to display his charm, wit and compassion (not The Bachelor). The kind of outlet that Jillian wanted so badly that she made foolish choices that pretty well ensures she will never find it.

    I signed up last night for the Team Reid MB. Geez, Lake Louise. It's a treasure trove of Reid love, for sure. There are more pictures and info about him than anyone would care to know!

    I love the photo section. He's stinkin' adorable.

    M and all,

    From the TeamReid MB, I gleaned that The New Bachelor announcement will be on October 13/14th (whenever DWTS airs). There's lotsa talk about the delay being the result of the producers needing to renegotiate the terms. Some speculate that they pursued Reid, Jake, and Kip, then they may have considered new blood, and when that fell through, they returned to the initial three. This adjustment may account for the revision of the show's description. From a post over there, it seems like the producers eventually will make sweeping concession in terms of money, access to external media (i.e IPods, contact with family) in order to sign their desired talent. The hottest commodity means the highest ratings.

    Here's news on the three guys:
    Jake: virtually off the map. No one's really seen or heard from him except for an early September appearance as a judge in a TX contest (?). His silence makes some wonder if he is the new Bach.
    Kip: Just had head shots done by a professional photog. They sure look like Bach-type shots, but Graham Bunn and Mike Stag also have photo-shoots on their resume. Per Team Reid MB, Kip just opened a 2nd Facebook profile. I don't read a ton into the 2nd profile (one could be for just fans, the other real friends).
    Reid: at his Where magazine special-invite party, he informed a photog that life's been hectic and stuff's been happening, stuff which he cannot yet reveal. He's been showing up at the Bach guys' reunions, one of which was Jesse's that corresponded with "business" he had to attend to in LA. He also was in NYC with Mike Steinberg during Fashion Week, when Jill was there, and hung out with Jill's friends (way weird). Not much news on him and real estate, so something is def cooking for him.

    That's all the sleuthing I felt like doing. There's no way in hell I can get into this season as deeply as I was last season.

    Leeny-Lou, Patti will be thrilled that you and Marianna have joined the Team Reid site. She asked me a couple of times to spread the word over here. I encouraged her to join us on this blog but with all the administration she does on that board, maybe she's too busy.

    The one point that I will add to your comments above regarding mystery Bachelor #14 is that Reid has hired an entertainment attorney. This indicates that something must be in the works. It's not necessarily TB but hopefully a new outlet for us reignite the swoonfest!!

    Patti was pretty stoked to have some DHers representin'. I'm still wading through that board. There. Is. A. TON of stuff. Everyone seemed excited today being that Reid accepted some friend requests. Good for them!!!

    Question about the attorney: Is he the same attorney Reid hired in March to negotiate his Bachelorette contract? I read an article during the season in which Reid discussed his decision to do the show, mentioning his attorney. Gotta say, I'm trying to find hope that he did NOT agree to do the show. Undoubtedly, his talent and skill could be matched perfectly with some other show.

    Of course, I'd love for our group to hit the boards again, armed with new material. In Nash's honor (and hopefully begun by her), we could raise the dead Dark Horse once again ;)

    Hey LL - you might be right about the Attorney. Patti had some pictures posted of him at Reid's "Where Magazine" party and I wondered why he would need an entertainment attorney. I really don't think Reid will be the new Bachelor but stranger things have happened, that's for sure. I guess we will know soon enough.
