20/20 Episode about the Bachelor Series

I didn't watch Jason and Molly's wedding -- didn't want to lose any more hours of my life on those two. But this coming Monday (Mar 15) 20/20 is doing a background story (or so they say) about the Bachelor series. For all my dear Reidster's I believe he is supposed to be on discussing the program. What will also make me watch is that one of my original Bloggers is also being profiled.

Back during either Jason or Deanna's season I googled the Bachelor and found Stacey B's Blog. She was witty and fun and just starting out so I kept coming back to read and enjoy her recap. She was my first taste of recap humour - which of course led me to the ABC message board and Marianna's Musings (the rest is history).

You can read Stacey's Blogpost about her upcoming part on 20/20. I love how she says that the 8 or 9 hours of filming might only translate to about 3 minutes but what the heck. Her Fiance (soon to be husband on Sunday) is a voice over actor and I have loved listening to their podcasts. I just love that because of her blog I discovered this whole world of great people.

  1. Jo,

Waste at least 20 minutes on their wedding. The last 20 minutes of the 120 minute special. It really was beautiful. First time I'd ever seen real love on this show.

I'm excited for the 20/20 epi though I wonder if it'll really reveal anything that FORT hasn't already told us.

Part of me wonders if this new media blitz has something to do with improving the show's image in efforts to attract higher caliber contestants.

  2. Per jelle at FORT, an entertainment industry insider, regarding the 20/20 show:

Fleiss had nothing to do with the production. Those interviewing were not privy to half the information that we are at FORT. Expecting ABC to do the hatchet/expose' job on The Bachelor (according to TIME Magazine, the 3rd most successful reality show) is simply not realistic. They were looking for behind the scenes information. However, the interviews will be what they are without intervention from Next Productions. Remember for Next, any publicity is better than no publicity.
