According to TeamReid, Reid is 100% not the next Bachelor. One board member supposedly Facebook chatted with Reid (several of TeamReid board members are his Facebook friends) who told her himself that he was not the bachelor. Some doubt that post just cuz Reid's Twitter and FB have been hacked, but the board administrator followed it up with a Twitter from a Philly photog who corroborated the news.
Tons of leaks are out there; given the Fort-Knox-like contracts on Bachelor actors, I'm not sure how people can leak inside info without threat of a lawsuit, but I'll take it.
All signs point to Jake.

Triple,
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'll watch the new Bachelor show. I'm kind of glad it's not looking as if it'll be Reid -- although I wanted to submit your application! What do you mean they chose the girls already? Do the girls sign up for anything with a penis? I thought they only signed up for a guy they saw themselves compatible with! But then, perhaps I need to divest myself of naivety...
Jake, hmmm.... Let's hope he shows his sweet side and doesn't go into precocious intensity-mode. Let's hope he is true to himself and not just playing to the producers' manipulations.
My musings will continue once the show starts.

M, to answer your question about casting: Nope, they start casting really whenever they want. I'm sure they have prospects in mind, but it really doesn't matter to them who the lead is. I think, at some point, maybe, the lead checks out head-shots (there was a lot of buzz about Reid being the Bach when he flew to LA for a Bach reunion during Jess's wine tasting in August; apparently, it's speculated that he may have been there looking at head shots????); maybe, too, the group is refined once the lead is cast either by the producers' choice (Jill did say that they asked her about preferences/type) or the contestants' withdrawal. Some speculate that the additional Fab 5 of Jill's season (that included Ed, Reid, Tanner, and Mike Steinberg) were added due to age and compatibility. They were recruited by the show. Keep in mind that Jill's cast was actually chosen with Melissa or Molly in mind.
ReplyDeleteThe more I learn about the franchise the more disgusted I get with it. Fleiss LOVES to mock love. If he really cared about matchmaking, he'd focus on compatibility. It's all about the drama. If it ends up like Trista and Ryan or Tali and Luke, then he's come out ahead ;)
Quite right, Leeny-Lou. Fleiss doesn't give a rat's behind for true love or compatibility. He's there to entertain, to provoke and to create ratings.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised at all the good audience reaction to his other show "More to Love" -- much less scandalous, more quiet dates, real conversations. Hardly any helicopters at all. Maybe there is a market for a serious dating show after all?
