Decogirl/Ann -- you ok??

Ann I just saw the news of what was happening in Calgary. My goodness!!!! Even the Environment Canada guy was stunned and called it an act of God.
Just let us know that you and yours are all fine. I know the worst hit area was Camrose - but Calgary wasn't bypassed by the windstorm.

  1. Hi Ann, hi Joanne, (hi everyone!),

I echo Joanne's hopes that you are fine. I had not turned on the tv or radio today (too involved in my work) and didn't know about the windstorm in Alberta.

I notice that a small child was killed by some debris flying off a building. How tragic.

Many thousands of Calgarians lost power today due to the windstorm last night. Were you one of them, Ann?

I must also phone my brother-in-law who lives in Calgary to see if they're okay.

A reminder to hug the ones you love.

  2. wow - I sure hope everyone is okay. I've not seen any news today as I just got home. My fingers will be crossed that Decogirl is fine and everyone else affected by these windstorms.

  4. Thank you all - I am fine. Yes we had a violent wind storm on Saturday night, which so sadly took the life of a child. She was killed by debris that blew off a construction site downtown. A freak accident. Can you imagine her poor family?
It didn't last long though and fortunately there was just some damage to trees etc. I didn't loose power at my house.
The weather has been extreme throughout the province. A woman was killed in Camrose, which is close to Edmonton, when a stage collapsed at a music festival, on Saturday too.
Then last night we had a big thunderstorm about 2am. The temperature has gone from about 30C yesterday to 12C today. Most people are glad to have a break from the heat, as we are so not used to it.
I've had a busy weekend socially and just sat down to see what's been happening here with all my new friends. What a nice surprise to know you were concerned about me. I feel blessed.
I will now try to catch up on all the new news and no doubt will have something to post later on.
    Again, thanks for caring!
    Ann
