Hey, friends!
I'm tinkering tonight with our lovely blog after a day of tinkering with my car and the plaid shirt racks (do I like this plaid or that plaid?) and then my thoughts (it's like a maelstrom currently...when I unpack it all, I'll be sure to share).
Two tips:
Editing: There are two paths to get to the edit. 1) When you log into the blog, there is an "edit posts" button on your profile page. You just select your post that you want to edit, it'll bring up the draft, you make your changes, save it, and voila! The job is done! a la Mary Poppins. Or 2) Hit "New Post". But instead of drafting a new post, select the "edit posts" hyperlink which will bring you to the same page as Route 1.
Hyperlinks: Some of us like to add links to the post. When you draft a new post, position the "I" bar where you want to insert the hyperlink, then click the "chain link" icon (after the Font color icon and before the paragraph indentation icons). It'll prompt you to type the url. And voila! The job is done!.
Hope that helps us,
Leen

Leen dahling,
ReplyDeleteYou may as well be speaking Greek -- I'll certainly try what you suggest but I think I may get lost in the jargon -- what the heck is a 'hyperlink'?
Pathetically,
M.
M dahling,
ReplyDeleteHyperlinks are links to another webpage embedded within a post. Like, if I type "http://www.abc.com" and want to make it so that you just have to click on it to access the page, I'd insert a hyperlink. This blog (as far as I know), unlike ABC's, doesn't automatically create hyperlinks; you have to insert them.
Lemme know if you have other questions.
And they said technology, it don't come eaaaazay (unless you're Ed),

My wonderful "techie" mentor, triple:
ReplyDeleteI think I am following you so far, except where is this "chain link icon" and "font colour icon" of which you speak???
Arghhh... it's like I'm functioning with one eye blinded and one hand tied behind my back.
Mildly embarrassed but exceedingly grateful,
M.
I'm gonna try something, so just disregard this post as my experiment.

M~
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna start a new thread about hyperlinks, both in a new post AND in comments.
Noice.
M,
ReplyDeleteWhen you create a new post, the hyperlink option is on the toolbar immediately to the right of the "Font" drop-down menu. It's the 5th icon in. It looks like a chain-link.
To hyperlink in a NEW POST only:
1) Copy and paste the URL (ex. www.romanticportrayals.com) into the post.
2) Click the hyperlink icon.
3) A pop-out window appears prompting you for the URL.
4) Copy and paste the URL into the field that starts with "http://"
Be SURE to delete any extra "http's". I've created broken links because I have too many "http's" in the URL.
In no time, you'll be a computer programmer.
Keep asking q's,
Leen
